Emma Bateman

Emma grew up in Pennsylvania and went to the University of Delaware for college. While in college, she had the opportunity to study abroad in Denmark and learned about Scandinavian educational philosophy. After college, she moved to Charlottesville for graduate school and earned a Master’s in Special Education from UVA. 

Following graduation, she was a special education teacher and taught students with autism. She  is passionate about early learning skills including social skills, functional communication, and life skills. She hopes to learn more at ONCDC about child development and early learning, including how to incorporate more play into learning.
