Jalyn grew up in Charlottesville, VA, with her mom and siblings. She also spent some of her childhood with her father in Buckingham, VA. From a young age, Jalyn actively participated in community work, such as distributing food to the homeless and volunteering at shelters during holidays. She always held the belief of making a positive contribution to the world. Although she had a desire to work with children, she didn’t know where to begin. Eventually, she came across Our Neighborhood while talking to a family member. Upon exploring the school, she discovered conscious discipline and various other areas of interest. This captivated her, and she yearned to acquire more knowledge.

During her free time, Jalyn volunteers with her mom at The Haven and various shelters in town, distributing supplies to those in need. Additionally, she enjoys taking walks and going on hikes with her two dogs and her family. Hanging out with friends and her significant other brings her joy. Jalyn feels incredibly happy and fortunate to embark on this new journey.
