RIE-INSPIRED PLAYGROUPS AND OFFERINGS
Our Neighborhood Child Development Center practices a number of pedagogical philosophies, one of which is rooted in respectful and attuned care for children, inspired by the work of Magda Gerber and Resources for Infant Educarers. One of our Infant Toddler Village teachers, Shannon, is on the RIE Associate Pathway. She completed her RIE Practicum in summer 2025 after hosting parent-infant playgroups to a variety of ages of infants and toddlers. She is continuing these playgroups and is offering new classes and opportunities to the Charlottesville community. Upcoming digital options will provide access to caregivers outside of the Charlottesville area.
All RIE-inspired offerings exist in a pay-what-you-can basis. More information about payment will be shared upon registration.
