Babies Are Not Pizzas

Review:

Babies Are Not Pizzas is a fabulous read and a favorite for expecting parents. It’s a beautiful story, concise and powerful, with lots of research woven throughout. It’s a helpful introduction to the world of birth and a great starting point for parents to build the advocacy skills they need for the birth, of course, but also for the many years ahead.

Key Points:

  • I loved the history and the research.
  • I appreciated hearing the different stories of birth.
  • I appreciated the vulnerability of sharing how hard it can be to be vulnerable and how isolating birthing can be.

Challenges:

I loved it, I just want more. I would love more research, deeper skills for self-advocacy, and more skills for change-making in Rebecca Dekker’s next book.
