It looks like it’s time to wait.

Context: Sometimes there are two friends who both really want to work with the same toy, e.g. the yellow dump truck. None of the other similar trucks are available. There are fire trucks and blue trucks available, but those just won’t do. 

You can tell your child, “I see your friend is working with the dump truck you want. It looks like it’s time to wait.” Then you can wait together. You can sing, read a book, or work in the sand box until the friend is all done using the dump truck
