Hundred Languages of Children

by Carolyn Edwards, Lella Gandini, and George Forman

Recommended by ONCDC

Review:

This is the go to book for those who are interested in studying the Schools of Reggio Emilia. Unfortunately that means it is quite long, dense, and philosophical. It is not an easy read with more than 400 pages each of which could be studied for more than a month expect this to be a slow process. Many early childhood programs study a chapter a year  or a small section at a time as a means to deepen their practice.

Key Points:

We have used chapters 9, 12, and 13 as reflection opportunities to deepen our team’s practice.

Challenges:

The writing is so philosophical a sentence or two could invite month long reflections.
